We are currently seeking an experienced Litigation Associate to support our civil litigation team in representing clients in mediations, arbitrations, and litigation in Michigan's State and Federal courts.
We are looking for candidates who are eager to grow their practice and make a lasting impact on both our firm and our clients.
Litigation Associate Responsibilities :
- Collaborate closely with the firm's corporate, real estate, and probate attorneys on a variety of dispute resolution cases.
- Maintain regular and direct communication with clients to provide updates, gather necessary information, and address their concerns.
- Engage with opposing counsel to negotiate, exchange relevant information, and work toward case resolutions.
- Contribute to and manage ongoing discovery efforts, including written requests, eDiscovery, and depositions.
- Participate in court proceedings, such as hearings and trials, to advocate for clients and present legal arguments effectively.
- Assist in the development and implementation of strategies for efficiently resolving disputes.
Litigation Associate Qualifications :
- A strong commitment to professionalism, integrity, and teamwork.
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in civil litigation, with the ability to handle various case responsibilities effectively.
- Active licensure and good standing to practice law in Michigan, or the ability to obtain and maintain such licensing.
- Practical experience and expertise in developing and executing legal strategies to manage and resolve civil disputes through litigation, mediation, arbitration, or other dispute resolution methods.
- The ability to work collaboratively with other attorneys, legal professionals, and staff to support case preparation and execution.
- While a portable book of business is not required, the ability to leverage existing client relationships and business development skills is highly valued.
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
