Description

The LCNS lab manager will take a leadership role in managing the operations of multiple brain stimulation studies, coordinating activities, and allocating staff resources as appropriate.

The lab manager will oversee hiring, onboarding, and training of new staff, and will ensure harmonization of study activities across studies.

The lab manager will also serve as a back-up for conducting study visits, in conjunction with the staff they will supervise.

They will be required to ensure accurate data collection, proper data management, and perform quality control tracking. Moreover, the lab manager is to ensure that all brain stimulation research is conducted safely and according to study protocol, provide technical guidance to study coordinators and teams conducting the study / interventions, and collaborate with peers from other institutes and universities.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate research and administrative needs for LCNS scientists, including navigation of regulatory procedures, assist with study design, development, and execution of research protocols, procure lab equipment and supplies, monitor project timelines and reporting.
• Manage single and multi-site clinical trials (including study start-up, daily operations, and troubleshooting; QA & QC;

SOP development and study close-out activities)

• Interface with PIs, clinicians, researchers, staff, and collaborators to ensure consistency and quality in study implementation.
• Supervise clinical research coordinators, student workers, and research assistants.
• Educate and train all lab personnel to administer transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and transcranial electrical stimulation (TES).
• Serve as the in-house technical support, and expert for lab technology, research software, and the assessor of shared systems.
• Perform data analyses, interpret preliminary results, and assist in manuscript preparation.
• Manage equipment purchasing, invoices, and expensing.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Hiring range minimum for this position is $70,958.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• in cognitive sciences, or neurosciences is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
• Prior research experience working in a non-invasive brain stimulation lab is required; previous project management is preferred.
• Proven track record as a proactive problem-solver with the ability to establish priorities, manage shifting priorities, and handle numerous time-sensitive projects with multiple deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills and previous team leadership experiences is preferred.
• Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, ability to work independently and as a team member is required.
• Experience working with persons that have cognitive and communication impairments is preferred.
• Experience working in a clinical research setting is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
