Job Summary :

Please note this position is located in Frankfort, KY.

The Kentucky Immunization Nurse Manager is responsible for planning, coordination, and directing all immunization activities for the Kentucky Department for Public Health.

This position provides the vision, leadership, and management to reduce and control vaccine-preventable diseases and promote immunization uptake across the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

The Immunization Branch Manager has oversight over all immunization programs and activities conducted by the Kentucky Department for Public Health, including the Vaccines for Children (VFC) federal entitlement program that provides vaccine hundreds of thousands of doses of free vaccines to children in Kentucky annually;

the adult vaccine program and the Kentucky Immunization Registry, a statewide immunization information system.

This position is responsible for improving immunization coverage rates in Kentucky, supporting investigating and response to outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases, directing the implementation and evaluation of Kentucky’s immunization requirements for attendance in child care or school, directing the vaccine campaign component of the agencies response to outbreaks and emergencies, and directing communication, health education, quality assurance / improvement and clinical support activities to promote well-care check-ups and on time vaccination to protect individuals and communities from vaccine preventable disease outbreaks.

The Immunization Branch Manager leads a branch of approximately 35 staff and directly supervises a multidisciplinary team of section managers, federal program advisors, and administrative support staff.

Experience in public health required. Master’s or Doctoral degree preferred. Driver’s license preferred
