Position Description
The seeks to develop a pool of candidates for possible temporary / nontenured faculty to teach in undergraduate programs.
Temporary / nontenured faculty are appointed to supervise student clinical learning experiences, including but not limited to, administration of medications, procedures, health assessments, only when the qualified and experienced faculty member is physically present in the affiliating agency or alternative practice setting.
Teaching appointments are based upon student demand on a semester-by-semester basis. Eligibility for reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental / school / program needs.

This posting is for the Fall , Spring , and Summer / semesters. Required Qualifications
- Hold a current license or privilege to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited baccalaureate program in nursing
- Have the clinical expertise to function effectively and safely in the designated area of teaching. (Recent graduates must have worked at least one year as a full-time RN, or equivalent, under direct supervision of an RN.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of work experience as a registered nurse in the area designated to teach;
- Holding a Master of Science degree in nursing (MSN);
- Certification in an area of practice specialty, expertise in a focused area of nursing practice (such as OB, pediatrics, adult acute care, emergency department, etc.).
