We are looking to fill our Monday- Friday 8 : 00am-5 : 00pm opening with a competitive wage starting at $17.25-$21.85 per hour DOE.

As an Autism Aid II at Wasatch Behavioral Health's Giants Steps Program in Provo, Utah, you will play a crucial role in assisting with specialized therapeutic interactions for children with autism.

Your responsibilities will include implementing and monitoring individual and group behavior plans, observing children's interests, and providing a safe and interactive environment for learning and growth.

You will communicate effectively with children to facilitate cooperation and learning, while also modeling social behavior and expectations.

In addition to providing patient supervision and promoting the development of psychosocial and sensory skills, you will assist in coordinating pre-school functions and act as a classroom leader when needed.

Would you be a great Autism Aid II?

To excel in the role of Autism Aid II at Wasatch Behavioral Health's Giants Steps Program, candidates should possess a high school diploma and have completed two years of study towards a degree in Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, Child Development, or a related field.

Additionally, applicants should have at least one year of clinical experience as an Autism Aid I or demonstrate an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Successful candidates will exhibit strong communication skills, the ability to work effectively with children with autism, patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping others.

An understanding of behavior management techniques, knowledge of developmental milestones for children, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team are essential for success in this role.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are :

• Graduation from a high school
• plus two (2) years of study leading to a degree in Social Work
• Psychology
• Pre-school Special Education
• Elementary Special Education
• Elementary Education
• Child Development or related field; AND One (1) year of progressively responsible clinical experience as an Autism Aide I;

OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Spanish speakers may qualify for a wage increase..
