We are seeking an Associate Project Scientist with expertise in immunology and a focus on developing mRNA cancer vaccines to join our team at the Department of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology at UCLA.

The ideal candidate will possess a broad skill set, including proficiency in immunology assays, animal models of cancer, and molecular biology techniques.

Qualifications :

  • A Ph.D. in Molecular Biology or related fields, with at least three years of postdoctoral experience in cancer biology and immunology.
  • Mastery of molecular biology techniques and immunology assays.
  • Experience with preclinical cancer models and the development of mRNA cancer vaccines.
  • Experience contributing to large, collaborative research projects, especially those related to mRNA cancer vaccines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to manage and mentor research teams.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment with a track record of delivering high-quality, reproducible results in a timely manner.

Responsibilities :

  • Advise and mentor doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows.
  • Manage active research projects and assist in preparing grant proposals, publications, and presentations.
  • Lead individual research projects while contributing to collaborative efforts with other scientists.
  • Mentor research staff in molecular biology, immunology tissue culture techniques, and other lab-based practices.
  • Analyze, interpret, and summarize experimental data for publication.
  • Assist in the day-to-day management of the laboratory and support ongoing projects.
  • Identify, establish, and maintain collaborative relationships with researchers at UCLA and US and international institutions.
