Deloitte is recruiting staff for our GPS international energy programs. These programs focus on expanding the supply of clean, affordable electricity, advanced energy technologies, and associated policy and technology at the national, regional, and local levels.
Other objectives include :
Support government agencies to develop and implement energy transition strategies to meet their emissions reduction commitments.
Improve the technical and institutional capacity and performance of domestic and international utilities and power sector entities as they seek to build a more clean and resilient power grid.
Helping public and private entities better accelerate and prepare for transportation electrification in their jurisdictions.
Expand energy efficiency programs and technologies.
Support policy and regulatory effort that will accelerate the above interventions.
To support these programs, Deloitte is recruiting a part-time independent consultant to serve as a Power Systems Engineer / Specialist with fluency in Spanish to support a variety of activities to achieve the above objectives.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Business, Economics, or other relevant field, particularly in the energy sector, with a minimum 5 years of related experience in industry or consulting
3-5+ years in a technical or functional lead role in the electricity, energy, or power sectors
Strong knowledge of energy and power industry policies and best practices and experience in one or more of the following technical areas :
- generation, transmission, and distribution sectors;
- technologies and approaches to grid modernization;
- incorporation of variable energy renewable resources and energy storage; and ;
planning, forecasting, and dispatch approaches.
Deep knowledge of electricity sector stakeholders, the roles of each entity, and how the system is regulated across different types of market structures.
Ability to write, communicate, and prepare engagement materials fluently in English and Spanish
Preferred
Previous work leading teams in developing country environments, particularly in Latin America, including delivering presentations and conducting technical activities
