Raba Kistner is seeking an enthusiastic Construction Materials Technician III to join our team in Beaumont, TX . Under general supervision, The Construction Materials Technician is responsible for conducting field or laboratory testing, sampling, and / or inspection services.
- Communicate with dispatcher / coordinator to ensure priorities and deadlines are met in both the field and laboratory.
- Meet with supervisors of contractors, engineer / architect representatives and / or other project leads on project sites to discuss and coordinate testing, sampling or inspection of construction materials or construction procedures.
- Perform source inspections at plant and manufacturing facilities.
- Following safety protocols, ensure safe utilization, storage and maintenance of all equipment, including nuclear gauges.
- May lead the work of other technicians
- Communicate project progress and delays to supervisor and dispatcher.
- Submit accurate and complete testing / inspection reports on a daily basis.
- Drive company vehicles to job sites in a safe manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must have a High School diploma or GED certification preferred.
- Three (3) years of applicable experience in the materials testing and inspection industry
- Two (2) or more certifications, such as ACI Field Grade I, TxDOT SB 102, TxDOT Level 1A, TxDOT Level 1B, NiCET I or II Soils or Concrete, ICC Certifications, or other relevant certifications.
NiCET II and ICC certifications may result in higher compensation.
Possess a valid driver’s license within the applicable jurisdiction and meet firm’s auto insurability requirements. Able to travel to project sites and maneuver over rough and uneven terrain.
Complete Troxler Manufacturing or equal radiation safety course to utilize nuclear gauges, Technician Training and Certification Program (TTCP) from the Texas State Highway and Transportation Department, or ability to complete within 6 months of employment.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to read and understand instructions, labels, reports, etc. Good oral and written communication skills including the ability to write short correspondences, notes, letters and memos.
Must be safety minded and willing to put safety first in performing all duties.

all of which would require employee to follow implement and follow proper safety procedures and utilize appropriate protective equipment.
Regular use of non-complex machines and equipment and hand tools such as sledgehammers, shovels and picks. Work assignments are frequently performed outside in all weather conditions.
This position may require protracted or irregular hours. Flexibility to work irregular hours is necessary due to client needs.
