Location : On-site in Richmond, VA office

Position Overview

Richmond National is now seeking an Actuary to join our growing team. We are a specialty P&C carrier with a people-first and tech-forward approach which makes us a standout in the industry.

This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in the expansion of the company’s actuarial department.

The Actuary will report directly to the Chief Actuarial Officer and help make impactful decisions that shape the future of our company.

The ideal candidate will have P&C actuarial experience and be in pursuit of or hold the ACAS designation.

Responsibilities

• Ongoing product line analyses of rates and results.
• Pricing and reserving for product lines.
• Rate change monitoring.
• Programming to automate actuarial and data-related tasks.
• Data-sharing with executive team and staff underwriters.
• Work cross-functionally to aid in the development of internal tools and products.
• Respond to ad hoc requests from product line and executive leaders.
• Other actuarial work as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, data science, statistics, or related subjects.
• ACAS designation or very close to obtaining ACAS.
• Property & casualty experience required. Excess & surplus lines experience is a plus.
• Python programming skills a plus.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent analytical ability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
