Territory Account Manager
Location NJ / NY Area Remote
POSITION SUMMARY
We are searching for a Territory Account Manager to oversee sales and customer relationship management in the territory. You will develop and execute successful sales strategies for revenue growth and market expansion within the designated territory.
In this position, you will be responsible for finding new leads and managing your staff to drive sales. You will also encourage your team to maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers.
While you are primarily a manager, you will work personally with larger accounts. You will generate sales with client accounts using techniques such as cross-selling and upselling.
This role involves Identifying selling opportunities across product lines, including lead generation and Identifying customer needs and evaluate a solution.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Set sales goals for your sales team.
- Generate leads, prepare RFP responses, build relationships, identify business / functional requirements, present solutions and negotiate contracts.
- Map strategies to meet establish performance standards and to boost resource return on investment (ROI).
- Achieve annual product sales goals set for the territory.
- Develop pricing proposal and ROI for customers.
- Develop strategies designed to increase sales of products in assigned territory.
- Drive sales to achieve the growth profitability targets of the company.
- Maintain an up-to-date sales funnel and forecast.
- Identify new leads and avenues for growth.
- Close deals and manage relationships with larger accounts.
- Analyze sales procedures and policies of efficiency.
- Create reports on sales growth and profits for upper management.
- Effectively communicate and forecast orders and risks to management.
- Identify customer gaps and equate to selling opportunities across product line.
- Conduct performance evaluations and business reviews with customers.
- Develop sales channels and maximize market reach, consistent with the overall sales and marketing strategy.
- Identify and attend relevant industry conferences.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Experience with CRM systems typically used by a sales team.
- Proven sales experience, with knowledge of the latest industry trends and techniques.
- Strong communication, management, leadership, and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to balance customer experience with business objectives.
- Excellent communicator (written and verbal), you will also demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills as you grow your territory.
- Strong sense of ambition, self-motivation, and self-discipline.
- Ability to persuade and influence others and to develop and deliver presentations.
- Ability to work in a deadline driven environment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to travel 50-75% including overnight travel.
- Bachelor's degree in a business field.
- Several years of sales experience.
- Management experience.
- Technical proficiency.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
