Our client, the largest and fastest-growing health system in South Carolina, is looking to expand its Project Management team to provide oversight across the IT and Infrastructure teams in relation to recent acquisitions.

This individual will act as a hybrid resource at the newly acquired hospital locations, communicating cross-functionally across various areas of IT and applications teams.

Ultimately, this individual will be guiding and coordinating projects and strategy to ensure the successful integration of Epic and acquisition-related initiatives.

The Healthcare M&A Technical Project Manager will lead technical integration projects focused on IT infrastructure and ServiceNow platform during mergers and acquisitions (M&A) within the healthcare sector.

This role is responsible for overseeing the consolidation and optimization of IT systems, infrastructure components, and ServiceNow configurations across merging organizations.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in healthcare IT, infrastructure management, and ServiceNow, as well as experience in executing complex technical integrations during M&A activities.

Key Responsibilities :

  • M&A Integration Leadership :
  • Manage and oversee the technical integration of IT infrastructure, networking, and ServiceNow platforms during healthcare M&A projects.
  • Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring alignment with overall M&A strategy.
  • Coordinate with IT, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure seamless transitions across merging entities.
  • Technical Integration Management :
  • Lead the evaluation and integration of technical infrastructures, including data centers, networks, servers, and cloud environments.
  • Drive the consolidation of ServiceNow instances, ensuring data integrity, process continuity, and seamless transition.
  • Manage the migration and consolidation of IT services, workflows, and ITSM platforms within ServiceNow, ensuring alignment with healthcare operations and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the integration of infrastructure and ServiceNow meets performance, security, and compliance standards, such as HIPAA.
  • Infrastructure Optimization and Cloud Strategy :
  • Oversee the consolidation or migration of on-premises systems and networks to cloud-based solutions where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with cloud providers, internal teams, and external vendors to optimize IT infrastructure post-merger.
  • Manage system upgrades, capacity planning, and network configuration to support new, merged operations.
  • Compliance and Security :
  • Ensure that infrastructure and system integrations adhere to healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, HITECH, and other relevant standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement security protocols to protect patient data and organizational information during transitions.
  • Work closely with IT security teams to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities in merged IT systems.
  • ServiceNow Platform Management :
  • Oversee the integration of IT service management (ITSM) and operations management (ITOM) processes within the ServiceNow platform.
  • Lead the customization of ServiceNow modules and workflows to meet the unique needs of merged healthcare organizations.
  • Ensure the alignment of ServiceNow capabilities with overall business objectives, including incident management, service requests, change management, and asset management.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Reporting :
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between IT teams, business units, and executive leadership during M&A activities.
  • Provide regular updates on technical integration progress, risks, and milestones to leadership teams and stakeholders.
  • Foster collaboration between technical, clinical, and operational teams to ensure smooth infrastructure transitions.
  • Vendor Management :
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors, including ServiceNow partners, infrastructure providers, and consultants.
  • Ensure that vendor solutions and services align with the organization’s goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Change Management & Training :
  • Lead change management initiatives to support smooth transitions for end-users and IT teams during infrastructure and ServiceNow integrations.
  • Develop training materials and lead training sessions for IT staff and other stakeholders on new systems and processes.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field or PMP certification is a plus.
  • Experience :
  • 5+ years of experience in technical project management, specifically in IT infrastructure, cloud technologies, and ServiceNow implementations.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale technical integrations during healthcare mergers and acquisitions.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH) and IT security best practices.
  • Technical Skills :
  • Deep understanding of IT infrastructure (servers, networks, cloud, data centers) and ServiceNow platform management.
  • Experience in ServiceNow implementations and customizations, particularly ITSM, ITOM, and CMDB modules.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and data center migration.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, ServiceNow PPM).
  • Soft Skills :
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams and influence senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience working in healthcare IT, particularly during M&A activities.
  • ITIL or ServiceNow certifications.
  • Familiarity with Agile or other project management methodologies.
