Position Description

At a Glance

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Product Manager to join the Lighting Sector Kenall Team. This is a hybrid position reporting to Kenosha, WI.

This role will be responsible for the complete management of designated product lines, including new product development, quality, cost, offer rationalization, sales support and training, marketing, promotional activities, forecast, inventory management, operations performance, long-term planning / road map, budget planning, market & competitive research, Voice of the Customer, and strategic planning.

Relocation will be considered for this role.

What Will You Do?

  • Subject Matter Expert for product line.
  • Optimizes revenue and profit of existing product lines. Monitor and review product line performance and trends to evaluate the budget throughout the fiscal year.
  • Drives new product development through field visits, meetings with customers (ED, specifiers, end-users), and initiates research with engineering & operations to maintain a constant flow of innovative, cost-reduced, and high-quality products.
  • Leads the long-term vision and strategic plan for designated product line(s), ensuring sustainable growth, market share and profitability, keep an eye on the market : attend trade events, competitive benchmarking, initiate & conduct research into long-term trends & customer needs.
  • Prepares and leads monthly S&OP meetings for designated product line, monitor & act on inventory levels, production capacity, service rates, and production costs to meet or beat corporate targets.
  • Provide sales support and training for Field Sales and Customer Support. Respond to sales questions, prepare sales events (National Sales Conference), support pricing strategy, travel with sales team, initiate and respond to training requests.
  • Participates in sales and marketing collateral development, including catalogs, sell sheets, product bulletins and promotional campaigns with the sales & marcom team, manages product launches.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required.

Qualifications

Required Skills

Education :

BS in Engineering, Marketing, Business, or related degree.

Experience :

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, marketing, sales, engineering, or related field or master's degree and applicable internship experience.
  • Specific commercial lighting or commercial lighting industry knowledge is a plus.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities :

  • Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail, and be able to handle multiple priorities effectively.
  • Must possess excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to develop and manage to a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines, and control many projects at various stages of work.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software, e-mail, and meeting management software.

Ability to use internet and web-based resources efficiently and effectively.

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

Must be an effective listener, able to maintain focus, extract necessary information, and validate understanding of the information.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand customer's needs and identify new ways to serve / satisfy customers.
  • Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team-based environment. Ability to lead cross-functional teams. Promotes an environment that encourages cohesiveness and fosters trust and open communication with the team, peers, and all business partners.
  • Must have solid business acumen and understanding of a variety of functional areas within the business. Must be proficient in negotiation and influencing skills.
