Position Summary

In this role, you'll collaborate closely with clients, engaging in projects that encompass a wide spectrum of process safety and risk management activities, with an emphasis on PHA, HAZOP, and LOPA facilitation.

The ideal candidates will take the initiative to leverage their engineering expertise and critical thinking abilities to achieve safety and business goals.

Saltegra Consulting LLC is a boutique Process Safety and Risk Management Consulting Firm based in Southern California dedicated to providing our clients with the best experience, expertise, and solutions in the realm of process safety and risk management.

Our team consistently facilitates critical safety studies to protect people, businesses, and the environment by reducing the risk of chemical-related incidents.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead and facilitate PHA (Process Hazard Analyses), HAZOP (Hazard and Operability), and LOPA (Layer of Protection Analysis) studies, and other similar studies.
  • Interface with clients, understand their process safety challenges, and offer tailored solutions.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of experts to deliver the highest quality safety solutions.
  • Prepare detailed reports, capturing the findings and recommendations from studies.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior members of the team.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments and best practices in process safety and risk management.
  • Travel to client sites within different regions of the United States and potentially internationally.

Required Qualifications and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Process Engineer, Process Safety Engineer, or Risk Engineer.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead PHA, HAZOP, and LOPA studies.
  • Proficient in PHA documentation software (i.e., PHA-Pro, PHA Works)
  • Proficient In Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-manages and operates with minimum supervision.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

  • Eagerness to learn and stay updated in a constantly evolving field.
  • Professional certifications in process safety or risk management.
