Responsibilities
This opportunity is full-time at - hours per week, offers full benefits and day shift schedule (7am-3pm, every other weekend).
Established in 6, the Anchor Hospital is a -bed facility accredited by the Joint Commission that specializes in the treatment of behavioral health and addictive disease disorders for Adolescents, Adults and Senior Adults.
Located in College Park, Anchor Hospital serves Mental Health and Substance Abuse patients from all over the Southeast through our Inpatient, Partial Hospitalization, Outpatient, and Tricare program for active duty and veterans.
We are committed to excellence in diagnosis, treatment and education. Patients who come to Anchor Hospital are in crisis, and the road to recovery for behavioral, mental health, and substance abuse patients is a difficult one.
The staff at Anchor Hospital serves as compassionate guides who provide for our patients’ clinical needs.
Essential Functions :
- Responsible for nursing care based on the nursing process and in compliance with facility policies and procedures.
- Monitors, reports, and documents the residents’ behavior and physiological status.
- Administers medications and performs treatments / procedures in compliance with facility and nursing services, policies, and procedures.
- Guides the response to residents who are behaviorally out of control or who may be experiencing a medical or behavioral crisis in collaboration with the Director of Nursing, Medical Staff with delineated privileges and Physician.
- Responsible for demonstrating clinical competence in the delivery of direct patient car and the implementation of the milieu management program.
- Reports accurately and concisely to oncoming shifts regarding conditions of residents, both medically and psychiatrically.

Qualifications
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing, which confers RN, AD or diploma in Nursing
- Must be licensed by the state of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or have a multi-state license
- Prefer experience with adolescents, adults, and geriatric population in a psychiatric facility or rehabilitation program.
- Demonstrates knowledge of risk factors for violence and determining potential for violent acting out and ability to assess suicidal / homicidal ideations.
- Good verbal and written skills, ability to rotate shifts and programs as necessary, ability to maintain confidentiality of resident information.
