SHOP MANAGER
Title : Shop Manager Location : Council Bluffs, IA, US, 51503
Basic Function
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Shop Manager is responsible for the overall operation of transportation shop processes and personnel, including repairs & maintenance of company vehicles and equipment, management of shop and fleet inventory, and all required equipment inspections, compliance and systems.
Job Duties
- Oversees day-to-day shop personnel, procedures and equipment
- Repairs and maintains all aspects of company-owned equipment
- Runs diagnostic equipment and software as applicable
- Maintains Samsara system for all company drivers and corresponding equipment
- Coordinates with original equipment manufacturer(s) (OEM) as needed
- Installs hydraulic systems and related components
- Changes tires, oil, brakes on all company-owned equipment
- Performs inspections of equipment
- Processes purchase orders in relation to shop purchases
- Basic maintenance practices no major over-hauls
- Completes repair paperwork and documentation
- Maintains listings of company equipment as relates to transportation
- Renews registration on all transportation-related equipment
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time-to-time, in their sole and complete discretion.
Experience
- 5-7 years hands-on experience working in a diesel mechanic shop setting
- 3-5 years managing diesel mechanic shop personnel and processes
Education
- High School Diploma and Diesel Mechanic Certification
- Associates Degree in Diesel Mechanic Technology preferred
- An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
