AQRA is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer with design experience for a client in Pennsylvania, Maryland, or Washington DC.
Responsibilities
- Perform design computations
- Design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools
- Develop construction cost estimates
- Prepare and compile contract plans, specifications, and estimates
- Attend meetings with clients
- Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program
- Valid Driver’s License required
- 5-10 years’ experience related to electrical power distribution, power generation, motor controls, lighting and lighting controls, fire alarm design, telecommunications network design, or security systems design
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Work, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of Autodesk’s CADD and Autodesk’s Revit
- Understanding and application of NEC, IBC, and NFPA codes for completing electrical design work
- Ability to successfully function in a fast-paced cooperative team environment spanning across multiple offices
- Desire to participate and excel with a broad range of project types, roles, customers, and tasks
Desired Experience
- Professional Engineer License
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Project
- Working knowledge of Bentley’s Microstation
- Working knowledge of Electrical Modeling Software, SKM Power Tools or ETAP
- Working knowledge of Lighting Modeling Software, AGE 32 or ElumTools
- Familiarity with electrical testing apparatus
- Experience working with federal, state, and local government agencies
- Experience with federal, state, and local codes
- Experience working with local clients at the county and state level
