Carrier Sales Representative
As the Carrier Representative you will work to secure the right carrier for the right job every time for the team. You will develop and grow relationships with new and existing carriers.
This role is heavily focused on selling who our client is and what work they can offer to the carriers to help grow the business.

Responsibilities :
- Provide rates to the sales team.
- Cover loads on our client’s internal load board.
- Negotiating with carriers to drive down costs to increase profit margin.
- Provide market guidance to other departments to maximize the existing carrier base.
- Recognizing the most reliable and cost-effective carrier to help the company reach its goals.
- Utilizing internal databases as well as researching ways to find new carriers.
- Constantly sourcing for new carriers.
- Maintain current carrier relationships.
- Reduce costs by ensuring all accessorial fees have been included and not incurred upon receipt of invoice.
- Updating CRM / TMS software with rates and notes related to each order.
- Coordinate closely with the sales, operations & billing teams to maintain proper flow from start to finish.
- Other administrative tasks as needed.
Experience :
- High school diploma or a GED required. Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1-2 years with 3PL / Freight Broker / Transportation company background preferred.
- 1-2 years of sales and / or purchasing / negotiation experience preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred, but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
- Experience with load boards is a plus.
- Customer service experience required.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Clear and concise communication skills.
