Essex Brownell is seeking an experienced and ambitious Field Application Engineer with a strong track record and a genuine passion for providing technology solutions.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting sales by targeting new prospects and cultivating existing customer relationships to achieve high renewal rates and customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES :
We are looking for someone who is seasoned, hardworking, and highly motivated to achieve outstanding results. With minimal supervision, candidates employed in this position are responsible for design and manufacturing-related functions needed by strategic customers.
Working collaboratively with sales and marketing to achieve customers’ designs and goals. This position will primarily support the eastern region of the U.S.
- Support area sales representatives by regularly attending customer meetings and providing technical design support while building and maintaining customer relationships.
- Responsible for engaging with OEM engineers and Manufacturer’s representatives in utilizing product and material offerings to provide detailed design solutions.
- Successfully match customer pain / requirements to propose solutions.
- Create and deliver powerful presentations and demos that communicate the uniqueness of the value proposition.
- Manage technical aspects of RFP / RFI responses.
- Collect and document competitive intelligence.
- Travel
EDUCATION or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT :
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field.
- 5-8 years of experience in a similar position.
- 3-5 years of component-level or subsystem-level design experience.
- 3-5 years of experience with thermal management and implementation of thermal solutions.
- 5+ years of design experience.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
- Experience or knowledge in manufacturing processes preferred.
- Experience proactively engaging customers, organizing intercompany meetings, and maintaining business relationships across commercial and technical functions.
- Ability and experience being an extension of OEM design teams from the system to component level.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Some combination of thermal, electromagnetic, mechanical, and electrical design experience.
- Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
- Able and willing to travel out of state consistently.
