AV Safety Drivers - TX
About Embark : We are building a self-driving truck intended for long-haul highway routes. Our team became the first ever to drive an automated truck coast to coast in February 2018, and we were the first to start moving real freight for customers on a 650 mile stretch of highway from California to Texas.
We move freight daily between LA and Phoenix using our transfer hubs. This is an incredibly exciting time for autonomous driving.
We are looking for experienced, safety-focused CDL Class A drivers to join our growing team!
What we offer :
- $84,000 per year
- $3,000 Yearly Bonus
- Full-time
- Shift 10pm- 6am
- Guaranteed yearly salary (with OT pay)

Responsibilities and Experience :
- Must be a safety-minded individual; safety is our Highest Priority!
- Ability to maintain focus and great attention to detail for long periods of time.
- Ensuring the safe operation of autonomous semi-trucks while delivering various types of freight for Embarks partners on mainly dedicated routes.
- Complete detailed driving reports, procedures, and tests to collect data on every run to improve the technology.
- Provide essential feedback on system and truck performance to the team.
- Escalates any mechanical issues to initiate corrective action and or repairs.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements :
- Valid Class A commercial driver's license
- A min. of 5+ years of verifiable Class A experience in a tractor-trailer combination within the last 10 years
- Ability to pass a background check and Road Test.
- Must be able to pass DOT requirements including Drug Test, MVR, and Physical.
- Clean driving record (MVR)
- No more than two (2) minor moving violations while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years*
- No serious traffic violations while operating a commercial or personal motor vehicle in the last five (5) years.*
- No DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol / drugs convictions within the last ten (10) years.*
- No preventable accidents* while operating a commercial or personal motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.*
- No preventable* DOT recordable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last ten (10) years.*
- Willing to do multiple layovers and / or travel
- Willing and able to work flexible shifts & schedules including nights
- Be professional and a team player
- Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies, and or procedures
- Be able to follow written and oral instructions
- Willing to work occasional nights & weekends (This may change w / upcoming schedule changes)
- Have an interest in autonomous technology
