Description :
The Training Specialist will assess learning needs to design and deliver effective training solutions. Keep abreast of training and development research : learning theory, motivation theory, methods, and techniques, and evaluate the effectiveness of programs implemented.
The person in this role will collaborate with site quality, engineering, and operations teams to provide frameworks for employees in the business.
Essential Responsibilities :
- Assess learning needs, design to deliver effective training solutions
- Deliver New Hire Orientation / Onboarding Training
- Deliver / support site wide training initiatives
- Use data to measure effectiveness of training solutions
- Consults and works together in close partnership with educational institutions in terms of the development of both hourly and salaried career training framework
- Leads training, development plans and frameworks across the business. For example, development of OJT training curriculum blueprint, training tracker, etc.
- Aligns learning strategy to business strategic workforce strategy planning and development
- Conducts annual training needs analysis and ensures training is carried out / implemented
- Has knowledge of best practices and how own areas integrate with another
- Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated issues.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues
- May lead projects from time to time
- Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues
Required Skills :
- Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with 4 years of relevant experience)
- 2+ years’ experience as a trainer
- Training experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred
Desired Skills :
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
- Established project management skills
