Encon is hiring a HVAC Sales Consultant for our Add-On / Replacements & Special Projects team. As a member of this team, you will serve as a comfort and design consultant for cooling and heating systems.

The successful candidate will thrive in a competitive environment and be able to successfully prospect for new business while retaining excellent customer service skills.

This individual must possess strong critical thinking skills, can balance multiple priorities, can work independently and within a team, and is a great communicator.

Job Responsibilities

  • Identify leads and manage prospects to meet established individual and department sales goals. Leverage existing customer relationships to drive sales.
  • Keep detailed notes, photos, quotes, correspondence, and sketches of every project in order to provide a clear and accurate handoff to the production team.
  • Communicate effectively with the team and the client throughout the sale of project and project timeline.
  • Provide same-day responses to internal and external customer communications, even if it is to acknowledge them and provide a time frame to follow-up.
  • Generate weekly status reports to management on Salesforce activity (bids, sold projects, etc.)
  • Visit job site, as necessary.
  • Provide a seamless experience for the clients.
  • Pull HVAC permits with the local municipalities for sold projects, as necessary.
  • Coordinate and attend project quality control visits as necessary with Production Field Manager for sold projects.
  • Manage the budget and costs of sold projects. Ensure collection of payment for all sold projects.
  • Submit accurate and prompt billing and expense reports to Admin for invoicing.
  • Attend meetings as needed.
  • Stay up-to date on the latest products and technology in the HVAC industry.
  • Ad Hoc requests as needed.

Systems used : (training will be provided)

  • Sandler- Used during sales calls and visits to qualify prospects and identify solutions.
  • Box- Used for file storage, organization, and collaboration
  • Salesforce- Used to track all sales related activity.
  • SAMPro- Used to research client and site history & generating profit and loss reports.
  • DBAnalytics- Used to manage project status and performance.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Microsoft Office Suite Word, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Strong customer service skills. Ability to work with demanding clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated to prospect for new business.
  • Understand business metrics (gross margin, profit and loss, etc.)
  • Experience leveraging technical opportunities into sales.

  • Sales experience (3+ years)
  • HVAC industry experience
  • Sandler selling system; Salesforce CRM; SAMPro; Box

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be willing to report / work from office in Stratford, CT and from the field in the throughout Connecticut. Flexibility to work from home during COVID-19.
  • Employment / education will be verified.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • Encon is a drug free workplace and requires post-offer pre-employment drug testing.
  • This position requires a valid drivers license.
  • Must be able to drive more than 50% of the time (as needed).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, type, and sit for up to (8) hours.
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Able to climb ladders and crawl on hands and knees for brief periods of time.
  • Encon provides mileage reimbursement for this position.*
