Job Description Summary
The purpose of this job is to design engaging and strategic communication materials and to maintain and protect the visual identity of the organization and its overall brand.
Produces both traditional and digital designs including logos, advertisements, stationary, promotional items, reports, brochures, newsletters, charts, posters, signage, banners, eblasts, flyers, web and social media graphics, videos, and presentations .

- Provides graphic support and develops collateral and communication materials (traditional and digital) which may include logos, advertisements, stationary, promotional items, reports, brochures, newsletters, charts, posters, signage, banners, eblasts, flyers, web and social media graphics, videos, and presentations.
- Designs complex artwork using professional graphic software (e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud) or traditional art production methods.
- Consult with client departments to determine project objectives and audience(s), select appropriate methods and styles to best communicate information and ideas, gather information and develop design options and specifications, and estimate materials, equipment, budget, and time schedules to complete projects.
- Selects photographs and illustrations to be used.
- Applies graphic design, writing style, and techniques appropriate for diverse audiences.
- Translates statistical and other data into maps, charts, graphs, illustrations, project slides, and other presentation media.
- Monitors the production of citywide design pieces to ensure specification and quality standards are maintained, and deadline lines are met.
- Ensures adherence with City brand and marketing / communication standards.
- Coordinates and schedules printing projects; analyzes and selects the most cost-effective methods of reproduction.
- Takes, processes, and / or acquires photographs and graphic images for web, print, and video use.
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- May assist in the collection of data in support of recommendations for departmental budget allocations. May monitor division or program / promotional level budget and expenditures.
Education and Experience - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years experience in graphic design, public relations, communications, or related field.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities which may be representative, but not all-inclusive of those commonly associated with this position Knowledge of :
- Graphic design software and other industry-specific software programs such as Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Common business software applications such as Google Workspace or Microsoft Office.
- Marketing principles and practices.

Hours / Days Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. 5 p.m. Starting Salary Min : $22.47 / hour Mid : $27.63 / hour Max : $32.80 / hour, Commensurate with education, training and experience.
