As Finance Manager, you will lead and manage the accounting department which presents a challenging and rewarding position and heavily contributes to Viking's success.

The Finance Manager is responsible for processing the financial activities including financial reporting with a high degree of accuracy.

The role includes analyzing data and advising on ways to use that information to make strategic decisions about the organization's future.

The Finance Manager will present opportunities for cost savings, efficiencies, and process improvements. This role must ensure Viking complies with tax laws and regulations specific to the industry.

The position requires a high degree of accuracy and intuitive thought processes along with excellent communication skills.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Directing all aspects of accounting operations.
  • Attend and lead weekly finance tactical meetings.
  • Develop an advanced understanding of Viking financial reporting.
  • Proactively troubleshoot and monitor potential financial or workflow problems.
  • Overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Managing and projecting cash flow short and long term.
  • Retain constant awareness of Viking's financial position and forecast any future issues or complications.
  • Maintain awareness of current financial trends and practices that could improve efficiency of the team.
  • Strong interest in workflow efficiencies; autonomy to continue enhancing this role.
  • Able to work independently in a deadline-sensitive, fast-paced, and ever-changing environment.
  • Strong relationship management and influencing skills.
  • Be responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of monthly, quarterly, and annual financials with relevant analysis to management to explain project, departmental, and overall company performance.
  • Oversee all sides of accounting operations, including but not limited to balance sheet account reconciliation, P&L reporting, payroll, tax prep, and cash-flow.
  • Be responsible for gathering financial data for analysis and forecasting with respect to profits, trends, costs, and compliance.
  • Managing all tax planning and compliance with all required federal, state, local, payroll, property, and other applicable taxes.
  • Assisting the CFO with development of financial plans.
  • Collaborating with the Leadership Team (LT) cross-functionally with financial related activities.
  • Work cross functionally with VM departments to identify trends or opportunities and translate into effective, actionable counter measures.
  • Design and maintain all financial policies and procedures and develop VM financial playbook with internal controls documented.
  • Partner with the business to complete special projects as required - process improvements, system implementation & upgrades, due diligence, and acquisition work.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4-year degree accounting, finance, economics, or BA
  • 3+ years of financial management experience (ownership of full PnL & BS)
  • Experience with direct reports
  • Aptitude for continuous process improvement
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines
  • Consolidated Financial experience
  • Cash Management experience
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate
  • Financial software experience
  • Excel expert - ability to create ad hoc financial reports
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills and technical background

Business Hours : Monday through Friday from 7 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. or until the demands of the job are met. A ½ hour unpaid lunch (can be flexible). Travel as needed.
