Responsibilities
SCREENING OF APPLICANTS BEGINS IMMEDIATELY AND CONTINUES UNTIL POSITION IS FILLED
POSITION SUMMARY : Provide educational services to children or adolescents on the Child / Adolescent acute unit at Cedar Springs Hospital, as well as in Southgate School.
This teacher will also coordinate the vocational programs for all students years and older.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : *Must be able to lift and carry up to pounds.
- Frequently stands, walks, kneels, reaches while working with patients.*Requires full range of body motion including handling and physical restraint of patients.
- Ability to perform CPR and first aid. Ability to drive a vehicle if necessary.*Ability to work rotating shifts.*Must be able to speak, read and write clearly.
- Ability to visually supervise residents & hear requests for assistance from patients & staff.*Emotional stability necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Vision and hearing sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
Qualifications
SKILLS : Requires organizational, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Skill in use and operation of a personal computer, including such software programs as Windows, Word, Excel, etc.
Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, managers, regulatory agencies, etc.
using strong interpersonal communications skills. Ability to exercise professional independent judgment in planning own work, formulating recommendations and making decisions.
Working knowledge of state and federal educational laws.EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION : MA in Special Education or BS in human service field and enrolled in a special education licensure program at an accredited university.
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION : Colorado Department of Education Teaching Certificate, affective needs endorsement,or eligible for emergency licensure / TTESTAFF DEVELOPMENT REQUIREMENTS : Must meet or exceed hospital and regulatory agency training requirements.
EXPOSURE CATEGORY : IPerforms tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.
