Job Summary

The QA Tester isresponsible for testing technical solutions to flag bugs, usability issues, andany other defects before delivery to users.

The tester will act as a qualitychampion and empower teams to create high-performing and resilient systems,leveraging both automated and manual testing to efficiently cover eachsolution'

s functionality. The QA Tester will collaborate closely with the developmentteam to flag issues and ensure each feature is thoroughly tested.

Essential Duties andResponsibilities

  • Uses both automated and manual testing to efficiently cover the system's functionality and ensure everyfeature developed by the team is tested
  • Partners withdevelopment teams to identify key areas of risk in new solutions
  • Communicates detailedinformation on any defects found to development team and helps the IT ProductManager prioritize defects
  • Actively participatesin agile ceremonies as needed to provide clarifications and problem solve withthe team
  • Strives to automate andmaintain comprehensive test suites with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Runs tests inproduction environments after deployment to ensure quality
  • Knows the productvision and works closely with the Business Analyst and IT Product Manager totranslate their vision into tests
  • Stays updated withindustry best practices and standards on testing
  • Promotes teamwork and communication to encourage aninteractive, cooperative, collaborative and customer focused work environmentamong division, EDA staff and external customers.
  • Must complete annual and semiannual self-assessment asrequired.
  • Performs other duties and special projects, asassigned.

Skillsand Abilities

  • Ability to prioritize workload, must be highly organized, detail-oriented, handle various taskssimultaneously and work independently within limited time constraints withlittle or no supervision
  • Must be able tomaintain confidentiality and deal effectively and diplomatically with businessprofessionals and EDA staff
  • Demonstrates respectfulbehavior and promotes teamwork and communication to encourage an interactive,cooperative, collaborative and customer focused work environment amongdivision, EDA staff and external customers.
  • utilizes Microsoft as the core application platform and proficiency in theMicrosoft Office Suite is preferred.

Communication

  • Strong written andverbal communication skills; able to quickly process complex information andcommunicate test results, issues, and recommendations clearly
  • Willingness to speak upand present contrarian views in team settings

Bachelors degree in IT / Computer ScienceOR related experience in technical field

  • Strong analytical skills able toanalyze software systems to identify existing / potential issues
  • Ability to developintegration, performance, and load bearing tests

Agile eExperience

Strong understanding of agilemethodologies

Experience as a tester oncross-functional agile teams preferred
