About this role
As an Engineering Program Manager for Engineered to Order (ETO) Data Center cooling projects at Carrier, you will play a crucial role structuring and leading the execution of fast-paced, high-visibility special-order chiller design projects for data center applications.
Coordination, process / information flow, and data exchange responsibilities are global with a focus on ETO products manufactured in our Charlotte, NC facility.
This role will oversee these business-critical projects comprehensively, from managing requirements to supervising daily engineering activities and interfacing with cross-functional teams to support product build, testing, and delivery to the customer.
We require someone with strong English communication and leadership skills to guarantee that custom products consistently meet the quality and reliability standards akin to our standard products.
You will collaborate closely with multi-functional operations teams daily to achieve project success.
The Engineering Program Manager ETO Data Center Projects will work onsite in Charlotte, NC .

Key Responsibilities
- Program management of the special-order ETO projects
- Lead engineering ETO project teams, maintain project dashboards, manage requirements, and hold technical reviews
- Collaborate with cross-functional project teams i.e., sales, marketing, supply chain, scheduling, quality, and manufacturing and take projects through the phase-gate process
- Ensure timely delivery of work product and communicate project metrics effectively
- Uphold safety and regulatory codes & practices throughout project workflows, processes, and product development
- Identify and implement corrective actions, solutions, and process improvements
- Review and align with customer special orders, i.e., codes, specifications, and processes
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Engineering
- 7+ years of experience in a commercial production environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or interdisciplinary engineering
- Master’s degree
- Proven experience in project leadership and effective teamwork
- Experience in the HVAC industry and materials planning
- English communication skills, both written and verbal
