POSITION TITLE : Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) Paraprofessional

REPORTS TO : MTSS Coordinator-Student Services

POSITION SUMMARY : Assists MTSS teachers in addressing student learning using the MTSS Framework to effectively teach all students.

Funding for this position is reimbursed by Special School District.

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB :

Essential Functions

  • Assists MTSS teachers in planning classroom interventions.
  • Assists MTSS and Classroom teachers in implementing academic and behavioral interventions in classrooms.
  • Assists the MTSS teacher and classroom teacher in collecting intervention data for individual students in academic, behavioral and social-emotional learning (SEL).
  • Assist MTSS and Classroom teachers in implementing strategies and techniques to support students individually and small groups of students.
  • Collaborate with the behavior specialists to integrate intervention plans and regulate behaviors.
  • Attends all professional development and district-level MTSS meetings.
  • Develops and maintains a positive rapport with staff.
  • Maintains regular attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay Scale :

Requires a minimum of 36 hours of college credit.

PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT

The period of employment is the school term or nine and one-half (9.5) months annually (40 Hours per week).

REQUIREMENTS

Must hold or obtain a Substitute Certification or current Missouri Teaching Certification issued by DESE.

Alternative Pathways :

There are three pathways to secure a substitute certificate in Missouri.

  • Have 36-60 college credit hours.
  • Complete a 20-hour course online.
  • Complete the Parapro assessment.
