Overview

Our long-term client relationship with Boeing Corporation has led to a need for a Software Test Engineer in the Payload Software Integration and Verification Facility (PSIVF) on the Boeing Engineering and Technical Services (BETS-SWS) contract located in Huntsville, AL.

Additional need involves Integration and Formal Testing of Payload Flight and Ground software product releases used on-orbit and supporting science discovery and exploration on the International Space Station (ISS).

Responsibilities

The Software Test Engineer will :

  • Participate in, and conduct Test Open Records Review (TORRs) and Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), as required.
  • Update and audit Process Documentation.
  • Support testing of the International Space Station (ISS) Vehicle.
  • Develop test procedures, execute tests during informal and formal testing, and develop / release test reports, as required.
  • Participate in and conduct peer reviews of release products, as required. Document discrepancies and problems.
  • Support and participate in Test Open Records Review (TORRs) and Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), as required.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Required Education / Experience / Skills :

  • BS / BA degree in a related field from an accredited college or university, plus one (1) year of experience, or any equivalent combination of education / experience.
  • OR -
  • BS / BA degree in a related field from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience, or any equivalent combination of education / experience.
  • OR -

BS / BA degree in a related field from an accredited college or university, plus ten (10) years of experience, or any equivalent combination of education / experience.

Preferences :

  • Direct software experience or any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of web languages (ex. HTML, CSS, PHP, Java, JavaScript, etc).
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal using the English language.
  • SharePoint development experience.
  • Understanding of software testing and requirements verification. Use of C / C++ or other scripting language.
  • Software test experience.
  • Process oriented.

Essential Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.

  • Work may involve sitting for extended periods.

  • Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary.
  • Generally an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
  • Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.)
  • Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.
  • Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.
  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk / hazard to the employee or others.
  • This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.
