Job Summary

The Senior Tax Manager is responsible for the development and maintenance of a Corporate Tax function that ensures compliance with local, state, federal and international tax laws, rules, and regulations.

This position will be the primary owner of Propio’s relationship with its external tax providers and will be responsible for either coordinating or directly completing filings of all non-payroll taxes across Propio and its subsidiaries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Primary ownership of relationship with external tax providers to coordinate filing of appropriate returns, forms, & schedules.
• Completion of nexus studies for sales & use and entity level income tax. Coordination with Finance and company Leadership to implement recommendations.
• Creation and maintenance of a sustainable, repeatable process to organize and complete any internally handled tax filings.
• Integration of acquired companies into a centrally consolidated process of tax filing and organization.
• Coordination with tax teams of multiple private equity investors to ensure timeliness and accuracy of communication.
• Verification and validation of estimated tax distributions.
• Provide insight & analysis into optimal organizational structures and operations to ensure tax compliance & minimization.

Experience

• 7 - 10 years of experience working in a business tax function. Mixture of public firm and private experience preferred.
• Experience leading or performing nexus studies for Sales & Use, Personal Property, Franchise or entity level income taxes.

Preferred

• Experience integrating acquired entities and consolidating operations.
• Experience working with external tax providers for international operations.

Qualifications

• CPA license required.
• Strong ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to work autonomously as primary subject matter expert.
• Ability to work onsite in Overland Park, KS headquarters office. Work travel less than 5%.
