Position Overview :
As a Senior Commercial Counsel, you will play a crucial role in supporting our business operations by leading high-value service contract negotiations and reviews.
This position requires a strategic thinker with strong drafting and negotiation skills and a deep understanding of commercial contracts within the pharmaceutical sector.
The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of relevant legal experience and a proven track record of working in fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities :
- Contract Negotiation and Review : Lead the negotiation and review of high-value service and manufacturing contracts, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
- Strategic Transactions : Assist in the negotiation and execution of strategic transactions, including partnerships, joint ventures, and acquisitions.
- Legal Operations : Support the legal operations team by streamlining processes, enhancing contract management systems, and implementing best practices.
- General Contract Review : Provide legal guidance on a wide range of commercial contracts, including licensing, procurement, and service agreements.
- Risk Management : Identify and assess legal risks associated with commercial agreements and provide actionable advice to mitigate those risks.
- Policy Development : Contribute to the development and implementation of company policies and procedures related to commercial contracts and legal compliance.
- Training and Mentorship : Provide training and support to internal stakeholders on legal and compliance matters related to contracts and transactions.
Qualifications :
- Education : Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a well-regarded law school.
- Experience : 5-10 years of experience in commercial contract negotiation and legal counsel, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, from a mix of law-firm and in-house experience.
- Bar Admission : Admission to a relevant bar.
Skills :
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Understanding of biopharmaceutical industry regulations and compliance requirements is a plus.
- Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively to non-legal stakeholders.
- Proven track record of managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
