ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
The Department of Accounting & Finance in the Cofrin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay seeks applicants for a tenure-track position in Accounting.
Candidates with professional accounting experience with expertise in auditing and who have a CPA, CMA or CIA designation are encouraged to apply.
The Austin E. Cofrin School of Business values university-level teaching experience, the ability to teach a variety of classes required for completion of the Accounting major, CPA or CMA designation, engagement in institutional, community, and professional service, and experience working in the world of business.
The successful applicant will contribute to an academic unit which is growing in enrollment with programs in accounting, finance, and economics.
Over the past several years the business school's Charles Schwab Foundation Center for Financial Wellness and the Willie D.
Davis Finance and Investment Lab have been established within the Accounting and Finance Department. The Austin E. Cofrin School of Business enrolls a large portion of our growing university's students.
The college and departmental connections to the region and its business community are extensive.
This position will be responsible for enhancing UW-Green Bay's mission-driven inclusive teaching efforts and creating and maintaining an educational environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates those with diverse identities, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds.
This position includes the following responsibilities :
Successful candidates will teach auditing at the undergraduate level.Secondary assignments may include accounting information systems and other financial accounting courses.
Courses will be taught both in-person and online and may be taught in any of four other instructional modes (e.g., blended, interactive video).
Occasional courses may be taught at alternate locations as well as on the main campus in Green Bay.
- Demonstrate a commitment to students and effective teaching.
- Perform scholarly activities consistent with rank, including developing a strong research program involving collaboration with faculty and students.
- Mentor students in the "transcripts to resumes" program.
- Perform scholarly activities consistent with rank.
- Perform institutional and community service.
- Contribute to ongoing program development within the Austin E. Cofrin School of Business.
- Participate fully in the Austin E. Cofrin School of Business' AASCB accreditation efforts
- Implement inclusive instructional strategies to increase support for student from underrepresented and first-generation backgrounds at UW-Green Bay

QUALIFICATIONS :
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Earned Ph.D. in Accounting or DBA with emphasis in Accounting, or closely related field, from an AACSB or ACBSP accredited institution.
ABD candidates will be considered; however, an earned Ph.D. in Accounting or DBA with emphasis in Accounting, or closely related field, from an AACSB or ACBSP accredited institution is a necessary condition for contract renewal.
ABD candidates will be hired into a terminal appointment at the rank of Assistant Teaching Faculty with a rate determined at the time of hire.
Upon degree conferral during the terminal period, the contracted appointment with the rank of Assistant Professor will be reinstated.
