Summary
This position is located in the Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations, Program Development, Coordination and Support Directorate, Office of Design and Engineering, Interior Design Division (OBO / PDCS / DE / ID).
The incumbent serves as an Interior Designer responsible for planning and coordinating technical requirements pertaining to the design, construction, acquisition, repair, and maintenance of U.
S. Government-owned and operated buildings in overseas countries.
Responsibilities
Responsible for planning and coordinating technical and functional requirements to include space programming, space planning, coordination of interior details and furniture specifications for the design and construction U.
S. diplomatic facilities.
- Utilizes industry software to include AutoCAD, REVIT, Indesign and BIM tools.
- Serves as a Contracting Officer's Representative, exerting control over the management of government funds in support of the design of overseas facilities.
- Develops and maintains technical documents to include scopes of work, budgets, schedules, trip reports and narratives.
- Responsible for maintaining the digital furniture catalogue to include coordination of content and brand and interface with website host and overseas posts. Travel Required

Applicants must meet all the required qualification requirements, including education and any selective placement factors described below by the closing date of this announcement.

Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following :
- Experience working in the commercial interior design industry, to develop space plans, specify finish materials, and coordinate technical and functional requirements across technical disciplines.
- Experience in the commercial furniture industry to include furniture specification, GSA Schedule, furniture procurement packages, and competitive bidding.
- Experience in utilizing .commercial design industry software and tools to include REVIT, AutoCAD, Indesign, and BIM tools.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.
