About the Role
As Engineering Manager, you will provide leadership, management, direction, and vision to engineers, offshore contractors, platform suppliers and other specialists.
The position is additionally expected to report progress to senior management. Additional responsibilities may include oversight of the department budget, identifying and supporting talent, and defining resource requirements and allocations
Responsibilities
- Leading and mentoring a team of software engineers and offshore resources to deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code.
- Providing technical guidance and mentorship to team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning, growth, and collaboration.
- Leading the development of technical standards and perform reviews to ensure enterprise and architectural standards and processes are followed
- Collaborating with cross functional stakeholders including product managers, designers and architects to define requirements and design solutions for our product suite
- Driving the agile development process, establish best practices, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.
Requirements
- Possess current experience in Software Engineering (Java Python) and managing a team of technologists.
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience in project planning and management tools to manage project progress, budget, and scope experience
- Be experienced in building Cloud native solutions and knowledge in Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Experience in code reviews and development approaches. Proven ability to lead test-driven development and maintenance.
- Experience in Software development process expert in applicable methodologies (e.g., Agile (Scrum, Kanban)). Expertise in data modelling, design and manipulation, optimization, best practices, tuning, and leading industry trend knowledge.
Java Python development experience needed as well as a desire to use those skills.
Experience with various resource models such as Managed Services and / or Staff Augmentation
