Facilities Technician 1

Main Duties :

• Maintain a variety of mechanical items
• Prepare requisitions for purchase
• Change air conditioners’ filters and clean fan coil as directed
• Maintains buildings, performing minor and routine carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities
• Cleans work areas and disposes of trash and debris
• Performs tests and inspections of pool equipment and chemistry
• Other duties as assigned

Skills / Requirements :

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Weekend / holiday work is expected

Valid Alaska Driver's license

• Work Environment : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions;

extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration. Employee must know what Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to use in appropriate environments and must direct others to use same.
