Role Description
The Director of Specialty / Independent Sales will be responsible for developing and driving Fat Brain’s channel architecture and creating strategic, annual sales plans based on company goals, promoting profitable sales growth and driving customer satisfaction.
As the Director of Sales, you have a proven track record of driving profitable annual growth through the established sales processes, creating accurate forecasts and delivering on targets.
All while leading, coaching and inspiring a team of Manufacturer’s Rep Groups, as well as internal Account Managers that are calling directly on customers.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
- Primary point of contact for specialty and independent retailers and key accounts
- Lead, inspire and manage the outside sales rep organization, ensuring alignment of annual goals, growth targets, and proactive sales growth
- Own development and execution of a sales plan to meet company’s strategic business goals, domestic and internationally, establishing a multi-year vision for the sales organization
- Analyze business trends, existing lead generation account growth program performance indicators and competitor profiles to shape strategic goals and shape annual business plans for Fat Brain, rep organizations and customers
- Manage and grow sales across multiple channels with a specific near-term focus of growing the Specialty Toy retail channel and key accounts
- Direct and oversee lead generation programs and partner with marketing to develop appropriate vehicles to seize on lead gen programs
- Accurately forecast quarterly and annual revenue numbers, manage business on monthly cadence ties to corresponding glide paths and proactively communicate changes to plans
- Build comprehensive forecasts, achieving results around the plan, and communicating changes with operations
- Cultivate a team-oriented, problem-solving culture on delivering value-driven solutions that facilitate business success for retailers
- Identify key customer insights, help define the value proposition, and help determine marketing strategy to make wholesale growth objectives
- Lead trade show strategy and representation of the company at industry events
Education
Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing preferred or equivalent.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in consumer good sales, toy and entertainment industry experience, managing a team or Independent Sales representatives a plus.
- Strategic thinking with advanced analytical and complex problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated experience growing new channels and business
- Passionate about customer and consumer satisfaction with thorough knowledge of distribution practices and customer satisfaction measurement techniques
