The Role

We're building out our Live globalization team that is responsible for seamlessly managing and launching Live events on-service for our global members.

In this senior IC role, you will be responsible for leading a complex localization program for live event streaming on Netflix.

You should be comfortable in start-up mode and building programs and workflows in new, emerging areas for the business. You will interface daily with executive leadership, and cross-functional experts across Content, Product Management, Experience Design, Marketing, Engineering Operations, and others.

You will :

  • Oversee a cross-functional localization team in delivering a world-class multilingual Live product and viewing experience for our members around the world
  • Be accountable for building and maintaining a robust live localization program by establishing clear roles & responsibilities, high-quality output, and strong partnerships in a new space.
  • Manage day-to-day partnerships across the business, creating and facilitating alignment. You are expected to regularly manage up and across by sharing regular summaries on key initiatives & outputs.
  • Work with the team to review the set-up and localization deliverables for all Live title launches (Product UI, metadata, closed captions and subsequent SVOD subtitles) - ensuring your team is delivering on par with expectations.
  • Proactively identifying and establishing scaled workflows and articulating new requirements / needs that will increase the efficiency of the globalization organization.
  • Be responsible for being available during all Live streams - ensuring that you can support your team in troubleshooting any issues.
  • Be willing to roll up your sleeves to lead and execute on key projects.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of program management, ideally in the Live streaming or broadcast space - with a particular focus on international, multilingual content
  • Strategic, analytical thinker with empathy and a strong customer-focused mindset
  • Excellent written (memos and presentations) and verbal communication skills; timely communication
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and drive alignment amid ambiguity
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and effectively influence and contribute with concrete recommendations / next steps, across both regional and global teams
  • Comfortable applying a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to define success
  • Insatiable curiosity to learn new domains, keep up with industry innovation, and constantly ask 'why'
  • Bachelor's degree required

Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options.

To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range.

The range for this role is $210,000-$500,000

We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
