Technical service lab technologis t role for assignment to the product quality organization in Newark, DE :
The lab Technologist will be part of the group to support analysis requests originating from several customer facing organizational groups such as tech service engineers, field service engineers, etc. Duties will include.
Sample preparation, instrument operation, data analysis and reporting.
The technologist will be primarily trained to perform microscopy-based techniques (optical microscopy, SEM, etc.) and spectrophotometric measurements (NIR, FTIR).
Opportunity to be exposed to other analytical techniques as need arise will be available.
The candidate must be able to follow SOP’s and will interact with senior group members to manage workflow and priority to meet deadlines.
Good communication skills (oral and in writing), a willingness to learn, a teamwork attitude, and the ability to perform in a fast environment is needed.
The position also demands a high level of housekeeping and safety awareness.
This role has opportunity to expose candidate to other potential future opportunities in our quality, manufacturing, and R&D organizations.
Requirements :
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum 1 year of experience working in a lab environment required.
Associates or Bachelors degree in Chemistry or related field is preferred. Relevant job experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree.
2 - 5 years of Technical Service experience a plus.
Previous experience with surface topography equipment strongly preferred.
Previous experience with statistical process analysis strongly preferred. Basic understanding of statistics required.
Ability to prioritize and complete routine testing in a timely, reproducible manner independently and within teams.
Previous knowledge of chemical safety protocols and PPE required. Previous work in fume hood or ventilated enclosures preferred.
Ability to work with people at all levels.
Excellent communication, analysis, troubleshooting and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail to prevent and minimize errors.
