Lead Software EngineerA Lead Software Engineer is a key player in the development and maintenance of software systems, guiding the technical direction of projects, and guiding team members.

Preferred candidates are those located in Nashville, TN. Remote work is an option for suitable candidates, with a preference for those in the EST / CST time zones.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

• Design software architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security
• Enforce coding standards and best practices to ensure high-quality code
• Provide technical solutions and troubleshoot issues that arise during development
• Keep abreast of new technologies and incorporate them into the team's work where appropriate
• Write, review, and optimize code for critical softwareponents
• Oversee the development and execution of unit tests, integration tests, and automated testing
• Manage deployment processes, ensuring smooth releases and minimal downtime
• Analyze and optimize software performance
• Continuously improve development processes to enhance productivity and quality
• Collect and incorporate feedback from users and stakeholders to improve software products
• Ensureprehensive documentation of software design, code, and processes
• Participate in project planning, including defining scope, timelines, and resources
• Coordinate tasks among team members, ensuring project milestones are met
• Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Monitor and report on the progress of projects to stakeholders
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing guidance and support for their professional development
• Foster a collaborative environment, facilitating effectivemunication within the team and with other departments
• Address and resolve any conflicts or issues within the team

What are the requirements needed for this position?

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, including 2+ years of leading development teams
• Bachelor's degree inputer science or equivalent
• Proficiency in designing, implementing, and maintaining back-end APIs using one of the following programming languages : C#, Python, or Go, with a minimum of 10+ years of experience
• 10+ years of experience with relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server, and at least 2 years of experience using NoSQL / document databases (preferably MongoDB)
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience with one of the front-end technology stacks : Angular, React, or Vue
• At least 3 years of experience with Azure Cloud Platform and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
• Thorough understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts and design / architectural patterns for developing scalable and maintainable software
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to collaborate effectively within a team environment
• Excellent written and verbalmunication skills, including the capability to mentor and provide guidance to junior developers
• Adaptability to new technologies and amitment to staying abreast of industry trends

What other skills / experience would be helpful to have?

• Master's degree inputer science or a related field
• Capacity to flourish in a startup-like culture, excel in ambiguous situations, and embrace technical challenges
• Recent proficiency in deploying resources to Azure using Terraform
• Capability to quickly grasp new technologies and disseminate best practices across teams
• Familiarity with Assurant's defined development and systems architecture standards

Pay Range : $99, - $165,

Any posted pay range considers a wide range ofpensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
