HireArt is helping an Autonomous Mobility Startup find a customer-service oriented self-starter to be an Autonomous Shuttle Operator.
In this role, you’ll help transport passengers on fixed routes around Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, making sure they have an excellent experience along the way.
You’ll act as an ambassador for the company’s technology and vision while safely operating the shuttle in driverless mode and when manual operation is required.
This role also offers the potential for advancement as the business continues to grow and scale into new markets.
As an Autonomous Shuttle Operator, you'll :
- Adhere to operational guidelines and procedures and be ready to provide essential emergency services in the case of a critical event.
- Manually maneuver the vehicle when required, such as navigating entry into intersections and around blocked pathways, using a joystick steering controller.
- Deliver friendly and enthusiastic customer service to riders and be a resource for information about the area and local businesses.
- Perform basic vehicle inspections before and after shifts and ensure the readiness and cleanliness of vehicles, equipment and the workplace.
- Troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues.
- Create tickets for issues as they arise; follow up to ensure issues are addressed and corrected.
- Provide logistical support for the movement and storage of vehicles and equipment.
Shift Schedule :
- Thursday : 9 : 30 AM - 5 : 30 PM
- Friday : 9 : 30 AM - 3 : 00 PM
- Saturday : 9 : 30 AM - 3 : 00 PM
- Sunday : 9 : 30 AM - 3 : 00 PM
- Monday : 9 : 30 AM - 5 : 30 PM
Requirements
- 1+ years customer service experience
- Must hold a valid driver’s license with a minimum of 5 years’ driving experience and a clean Motor Vehicle Report
- Professional appearance, demeanor, and communication skills
- Process-driven problem solver who is flexible, resourceful, and pays close attention to detail and accuracy
- An ability to work independently and within ambiguity with a high degree of integrity
- An ability to learn technical troubleshooting skills to determine causes of unexpected issues
- Fluency in English (both written and verbal) and the ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
- Comfortable using a joystick to maneuver a vehicle (gamers encouraged to apply)
- Professional driving experience highly preferred
- Fluency in another language in addition to English is a plus.
Note : An offer is contingent upon passing a background check and drug screen. Once hired, you’ll also need to pass an airport traffic test during your training period. Physical Requirements :
- Prolonged periods of sitting, predominantly in a moving shuttle
- Mixed outdoor environment with interior; may be exposed to heat or cold
- Sufficient manual dexterity to operate the shuttle using joystick steering controller
- Ability to visually inspect and assess equipment, road conditions, and riders
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times
- Must be able to assist ADA riders or those who may need assistance

Commitment : This is a full-time, 18-month, contract position staffed via HireArt. This position will be onsite and available to candidates who are local to Honolulu, HI.
