Environmental Technician

Trillium Construction is hiring for an Environmental Technician in the Chicagoland area to assist with soil, air, and groundwater sampling for IDOT projects in the surrounding area.
Duties :
- On-site monitoring, documentation, and managing contaminated soil removal for IDOT projects.
- Assist in surveys and measurement of data.
- Assist Environmental Professionals and Project Managers with complex tasks.
- Calibrate, operate, and maintain field monitoring equipment
- Transport material samples or documents to laboratory for testing.
- Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
- Tabulate and prepare data for written reports.
- Assist with office administrative duties, such as filing and document control.
Compensation :
- $20 / hr - $35 / hr, depending on experience

Qualifications :
- Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Some experience preferred, but not required.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to work well with clients and co-workers.
- Good computer (Microsoft Office) and data entry skills.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history and a reliable automobile.
- Must be comfortable with a constantly changing work environment.
- Must be flexible with schedule. Occasionally irregular hours / weekends may be required.
- Occasional local travel may be required, including overnight stays
