Senior Piping Mechanical Engineer

SUMMARY OF JOBFUNCTION

The Senior Piping / Mechanical Engineers responsibilities include every aspect ofchemical plant infrastructure and piping / mechanical design for newfacilities and improving the safety reliability and operability ofexisting facilities.

The Sr Piping / Mechanical Engineer providestechnical leadership and assistance with developing specificationsfor piping systems tanks / vessels rotating equipment etc.

They willguide studies and evaluations aid in developing piping / P&IDdrawings approve piping / mechanical drawings and aid in developingproject scopes.

This role works with operations personnel projectteams maintenance personnel mechanical contractors and others toprovide optimal piping / mechanical engineering designs andsolutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES &RESPONSIBILITIES

• Workson multiple projects while balancing efforts to effectively provideproject deliverables to meet fast paced deadlines while adhering tobudgetary constraints
• Works with inhousepiping / mechanical design team to create piping / mechanicalproject designs.
• Works with project engineeringteam to review piping / mechanical packages provided by 3rd partyengineering groups.
• Executes all aspects ofpiping / mechanical engineering based on a solid understanding ofengineering fundamentals and advancedconcepts.
• Responsible for drawing setup anddesign documentation
• Responsible for overseeingconstruction document development from initial design to issue forconstruction
• Performs and reviews project costestimating
• Assists with developing maintainingand reviewing piping and other relevant engineeringstandards
• Provides construction supportincluding bid evaluations submittal reviews responding to RFIsproviding filed support conducting final walkthroughs anddeveloping punch list and asbuilt recorddrawings
• Leads projects and multidisciplinarytasks
• Provides leadership and facilitatestechnical and management collaboration amongst project team membersand stakeholders
• Communicates and works withstakeholders on a variety of issues including progress and statusreports scope schedule and budget
• Tracks theprogress of deliverables technical input and commentresolution
• Participates in project decisionsregarding technical approaches cost and schedulingperformance
• Monitors project schedulesregularly to determine any delays ordeviations.
• Monitors fees and budgets;proactively reports problems to the appropriate DepartmentManagers
• Manages workload and deliverables onmultiple project within budgeted hours.

• Maintain complete and open lines ofcommunication with other personnel functions or departments tofacilitate operations and interaction in theorganization.
• Keep supervisor informed ofstatus and progress ensuring that regular and periodiccommunication takes place.
• Maintainprofessional and technical knowledge by attending educationalworkshops; reviewing professional publications; establishingpersonal networks and keeping abreast of industry trends andrelated compliance issues with the area ofresponsibilities.
• Maintain professional conductattendance and high ethical standards in the workplace complyingwith companys policies and procedures.
• Fulfillmandatory training requirements applicable for department and jobduties as appropriate.
• Perform other duties andresponsibilities as required or requested by supervisor orManagement.
