The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from : $111,544.80 - $139,431.
JOB SUMMARY :
The IT Technical Project Manager is responsible for managing the overall implementation of IT Application projects. The role manages various programs and projects and provides relationship management on behalf of the AVANGRID IT group with objectives of providing an IT technical solution to meet the requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Projects can be funded by both the business or IT. For IT funded projects, the Project Manager will be responsible for budget management ranging approximately from $100K - $4M per annum per project.
MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Provides leadership on various programs and projects, including development of scope, creation of project team, management of project team (Matrix style) across business and IT areas (Architecture, Infrastructure, Governance, Security, Networking), solution design creation, solution sign off, project design execution, operational handover, and close out.
- Determines project management delivery style based on methodologies available and project requirements. Required to adapt to new styles, train / coach vendor on AVANGRID process, or manage working in an AGILE way where applicable.
- Interfaces with Global counterparts to review solution design and facilitate best practice process considerations in solution design.
- Leads cross-functional project teams and holds regular program / project status meetings.
- Is the lead team member with respect to accomplishing day-to-day goals and provides direction and leads decision-making.
- Manages vendor relationships, system integrators, contractors, and contingent workers on a project-by-project basis.
- Participates in preparation of plans and budgets for programs and projects, manages progress against plans, and takes corrective action to offset variances.
- Responsible for meeting corporate objectives for capital investment and manages projects to approved scope, schedule, and budget.
- Develops monthly key project dashboards for review with AVANGRID CIO.
- Responsible for innovation target within Global IT and Avangrid, required to submit ideas to global IT for innovation and execute proof of concepts on approved ideas.
- Performs lead role for IT in any storm-related activities and coordinates across the entire IT organization.
JOB REQUIREMENTS : Education Required :
Education Required :
- Bachelor’s degree required in IT, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- 7 years relevant experience required.
Skills / Abilities :
- Microsoft Suite advanced user.
- Certification for Project / Program management (preferred).
- AGILE methodology experience (preferred).
- At least 3 years of experience with various IT areas.
- Knowledge of IT design and architecture.
- Management skills including staff development and budget.
Experience / Training :
- Project management experience.
- 3-5 years of IT work preferred including AGILE project management experience.
- Strong service delivery experience, preferably within IT.
- Experience in leading projects and / or teams.
- Experience managing projects with integrations to Enterprise Systems.
- Prior management supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of IT business and financial aspects.
