Purpose of Position
Provide safe and appropriate transportation to meet the University's needs and to provide safe work vehicles and equipment for Operation and Maintenance personnel and the campus community.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide safe and aesthetically appropriate transportation for the University.
- Oversee the preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and other service work of all university-owned vehicles and equipment.
- Provide work orders to the transportation team on a daily basis to maintain the vehicle fleet.
- Keep complete and accurate record keeping of work performed, parts, and supplies. Completion of work orders in CMMS system for data reporting purposes.
- Perform general repairs and service maintenance to all vehicles and equipment
- Maintains a Commercial Drivers License with a passenger endorsement
- Report to work during Snow events to assist in repairing any vehicles or equipment
- Responsible for providing administrative personnel with monthly data for fuel and vehicle repairs for interdepartmental billings.
- Update and maintain employee training and timekeeping system.
Qualifications
Technical / Vocational school training with 4 years related experience with 1 year in supervisory experience.
Candidate must possess :
- Valid driver's license;
- Basic computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to communicate clearly both orally and written;
- Ability to work with various types of related equipment
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, reach, pull, kneel, push, work in confined spaces, and perform work above head level for extended periods of time;
- Perform medium heavy and maximum physical exertion and lift up to 50 lbs or more on a regular basis.
