Materials Manager

We are looking for a Materials Manager who is responsible for overseeing all aspects of materials management within the organization, including procurement, inventory control, logistics, and warehouse management.

They ensure that materials are procured at the right time, in the right quantity, and at the best possible price to meet production schedules and customer demand while optimizing inventory levels and minimizing costs.

This is 1st shift 8a-5p Monday-Friday and pay is $65-$85K BOE.

Qualifications :

Education : Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, engineering or a related field.

Experience : Several years of experience in materials management, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

Experience with ERP systems and inventory management software, Microsoft Office and a high proficiency in Excel is required.

Logistics Management :

  • Coordinate transportation and logistics activities to ensure timely delivery of materials to production facilities or customers.
  • Optimize transportation routes and modes to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any issues or delays that may arise.

Warehouse Management :

  • Supervise warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of materials.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations.
  • Implement lean principles and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and increase efficiency in warehouse operations.

Procurement Management :

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to source materials and supplies from reliable suppliers at competitive prices.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns to ensure consistent quality and reliability of materials.

Inventory Control :

  • Develop and implement inventory management policies and procedures to optimize inventory levels while minimizing carrying costs and stockouts.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies to ensure accuracy and integrity of inventory records.

Analytical Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
