Position Description : K-State Athletics is seeking qualified applicants for a Facility Custodian position that is a local agency, full-time, benefits-eligible position with paid overtime.
You will provide routine cleaning and supportive custodial services for our facilities and events.
Shift : 6 : 00 am to 3 : 00 pm, Monday Friday (Weekend hours required as required)
Duties :
- Supervise students and part-time employees on your crew
- Clean offices, media work areas, dressing / locker rooms, storage / work areas, suites, dining areas, restrooms, showers, hallways, stairs, elevators, entrances
- Floor maintenance
- Clean exterior entrances, walkways and handicap ramps, including sweeping and removing and / or treating ice / snow
Minimum Requirements :
Experience using a wide variety of cleaning machines / equipment and chemicals, their use / purpose, mixes and safety issues.
Ability to understand MSDS sheets for all chemicals to avoid injury to self, others, and the equipment it is used with
Experience and ability to work without direct supervision and be able to be flexible as daily tasks may be interrupted by unexpected events being added to the day
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience performing custodial tasks in a commercial setting requiring specific cleaning and sanitation procedures
- Experience supervising students and / or part-time employees
Other Requirements :
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
- Must be punctual, dependable and follow departmental policies
- Must be able to read, write and follow written and oral instructions in English
- Must be available to work evenings and / or weekends as required
- Must have a valid driver’s license at all times
