Accounts Payable Specialist

National Corporate Housing is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist. This person will perform various accounting and accounts payable duties as listed below.

The selected person needs to have a professional image, strong communication, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities :

  • Reviews invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
  • Acts as liaison between corporate and field; including researching issues prior to payment.
  • Codes invoices in accounting system working with markets where additional information is required.
  • Answers all vendor and market inquiries.
  • Maintains and compiles all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets, and files.
  • Prepares analysis of accounts, as required.
  • Assists in monthly closings by posting all invoices received by last day of month.
  • Prepares analysis of accounts to assist vendors in reconciling our records and theirs, as required.
  • Identifies and corrects potential opportunities to minimize expenses.
  • Distributes signed checks; assembles and processes overnight shipments to branches and vendors.
  • Resolves collection notices.
  • Follows up with various properties on outstanding Security Deposits.
  • Imaging.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements :

  • Two to three years or more related experience and / or training.
  • Proficiency in Excel is required.
  • Individual should demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in work and excellent attention to detail.
  • Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities and use time efficiently.
  • Can adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, and deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Responds to requests for service and assistance and meets commitments.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Able to gather and analyze information skillfully.
  • Can manage difficult client / customer situations with excellent customer service skills.
  • Responds promptly to customer and employee needs.
  • Meets productivity standards and completes work in a timely manner.
  • Consistently at work on time, follows instructions, and responds to management direction.
  • AP Certification or Associates Degree is a plus.
  • Prior hospitality sector experience is a plus.
