University of Washington Medical Center - Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for an LEAD CARDIOVASCULAR TECHNOLOGIST (CVT) in the ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY (EP) LAB.

WORK SCHEDULE :

• 100% FTE, Full-time, day shift, 40-hours-per-week
• No "Call"

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS :

• There is no On-Call obligation in the EP Lab; staff sign up for Late Stay’ to ensure some predictability in completing any cases extending beyond regular operating hours.
• Case types include diagnostic EP studies, device implantations, LAOO and ablations.
• Work as part of a dynamic, interdisciplinary team

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION :

The EP Lab technologist will scrub, monitor and / or circulate diagnostic and complex electrophysiology procedures. This role requires excellent communication skills with providers and staff about changes in the patient's condition, including hemodynamic monitoring and symptomatology.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

Scrub, monitor, and circulate diagnostic and complex electrophysiology (EP) cardiology procedures. Case types include diagnostic EP studies, ablations (SVT, AVNRT, A-fib, A-flutter, VT, etc.

lead extractions and device implantations.

• Communicate with physicians and other staff about changes in the patient’s condition, including hemodynamic monitoring and symptomatology.
• Participate in performance improvement and CQI activities within the department.
• Work closely and collaboratively with a team of leaders in the invasive cardiac procedures area, which includes EP, Cath and the prep / recovery area(s).
• Serve as a primary resource and support for other technologists within the department.
• Administrative time is provided to support efforts related to staff education, precepting, and supervisory needs within the department, as well as other non-patient care duties, such as;

oversight of procedure room equipment / connectology, supply / inventory, radiation dosimetry badges, case preference / pick lists, and other programmatic planning and support for the EP service line.

Act as a liaison between our other partners at UW, including clinical engineering, central processing, nursing, physicians and administration.

REQUIREMENTS :

• 1 year of EP experience and Associate of Arts (AA) degree from an accredited Interventional Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) program AND registration by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) AND Licensure by the State of Washington as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (CIS)
• 1 year of EP experience and Associate of Arts (AA) degree from an accredited Radiologic Technologist program AND Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) AND Licensure by the State of Washington as a Radiologic Technologist (RT)
