Our Business Services team is here to make sure that Data and Digital thrive like a well-oiled machine. We're the ones who help set the course, gather resources, and make sure things run smoothly - think of us as the ultimate planners and communicators, making sure everyone is on the same page!
We're like the superhero support squad for Data and Digital. From keeping everyone in the loop through top-notch communication (we're buddies with the Communication and Engagement team) to making sure the right people are in the right places (our friends in People and Culture are our partners here), we've got it all covered.
We've got a handle on best practices, training, and making sure everyone's got the right skills. Plus, we're the guardians of risk management and privacy keeping things safe and sound in the world of Data and Digital is our specialty.
Mōu About you
As our D&D Capabilities Lead, you will play a crucial role in our mission to effectively manage the talents within our Data & Digital workforce.
As the driving force behind this endeavor, you'll have the exciting opportunity to shape our capabilities framework and steer our modern digital workforce in the right direction.
Your responsibilities will include implementing capability maturity assessments, crafting proactive skills development strategies, and creating an atmosphere of continuous learning through training and certifications.
We're all about enhancing our organisational capabilities, so your keen eye for identifying skill gaps and your knack for designing effective training programs will be put to great use.
You won't be doing this alone, though! You'll be leading a talented team whose mission is to bolster our Data & Digital capabilities.
Collaborating with other departments, you'll help assess our needs, identify opportunities for growth, and craft strategies to tackle them.
Your guidance will be invaluable in nurturing our team members' abilities and performance, making you a true advocate for growth and development.
We're looking for someone who's not afraid to be a pioneer someone who can champion innovative ways of working to help us achieve our strategic goals.
Your partnership with the national People & Communications function will be vital in ensuring seamless communication during times of change.
And of course, staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices will be part of your routine, allowing you to recommend fresh approaches that keep us on the cutting edge.
Preference will be given to applications of significantly affected Kaimahi through the change process.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako Skills and experience
- Minimum five years' experience in capabilities management for a Data & Digital workforce
- Knowledge of organisational development principles and practices, with the ability to assess and develop capabilities that align with strategic goals.
- Strong knowledge of capability (incl. SFIA) frameworks.
- Strong leadership abilities, with the capability to inspire and motivate teams and individuals to embrace change and achieve desired outcomes.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies, tools, and techniques to effectively plan, execute, and monitor change initiatives.

- A commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions. This includes an understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the ability to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in this role
