Scott & Associates, P.C., is a well-established multi-state legal recoveries law firm seeking a motivated Attorney to join our Crofton, Maryland team and represent us regionally in MD / DC.
Since our inception in May 2000, we've evolved into a significant player in debt recovery litigation, providing comprehensive solutions for major banks and creditors.
This position is a salary plus commission-eligible opportunity with no billable hour requirement. Commissions are based on attorney-negotiated settlements.
Must be licensed in good standing in Maryland (required) and DC (highly preferred). Salary is dependent upon qualifications .
- The successful candidate will possess excellent organizational skills and familiarity with courtroom and civil procedures.
- General comfort with technology and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
- The candidate must be able to work independently and professionally interact with staff, opposing counsel, and the courts.
- Collection experience is preferred but not required, training is available.
Responsibilities Include :
Negotiating resolution of pending litigation, motion practice, review and drafting of pleadings / discovery, court appearances, document execution, calendar management, and other duties related to a high volume practice.
