We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform diagnostic sonograms to demonstrate anatomy and pathology for interpretation at our San Francisco, CA location.
Full-Time Equivalent (FTE)
- Obtain relevant patient clinical information from the requesting physician and / or service prior to conducting the exam.
- Prepare patients for imaging.
- Set up the room and equipment before and after each exam.
- Demonstrate the ability to recognize sub-optimal techniques and equipment malfunctions through self-critique of exams.
- Meet the physical requirements to perform diagnostic sonography studies in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including portable exams and transferring and transporting gurney and wheelchair.
- Maintain RDMS credential(s) in accordance with the criteria set by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
- Must have graduated from a formal accredited ultrasound training program in an approved school.
- Must have flexibility in scheduling, be able to rotate shifts, and provide coverage for weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
This position requires the ability to orient and work at all Center locations and during variable shifts as dictated by department needs.
- ARDMS credentials in Abdomen and OB / Gyn specialties are required at a minimum.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Must have at least 5 years of experience.
- Maintain ARDMS credential(s) in accordance with the criteria set by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
ARDMS certification in Abdominal and OB / GYN Sonography is required.
Previous ultrasound experience is required.
BLS Certification is mandatory.
Graduation from a CAHEEP accredited ultrasound program is desired.
Minimum 2-5 years of experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer at UCSF or equivalent.
Flexibility in scheduling, ability to rotate shifts, and provide coverage for weekends and holidays is necessary.
